Why We Don’t Offer Lifetime Trust Drafting (and Why That’s a Good Thing)

Why We Don’t Offer Lifetime Trust Drafting (and Why That’s a Good Thing)

If you’ve found your way here, you’ve probably heard about private trusts and the powerful protection they can offer. You may even be thinking:

“This sounds great—can you just draft one for me?”

It’s a fair question. But here’s our honest answer:

No—We don’t offer trust drafting as a standalone service.

And it’s not because we’re being difficult or secretive. It’s because we want your trust to actually work.

A private trust isn’t just a form or a folder. It’s not something you print, sign, and forget about. It’s a living legal structure—something that only functions if the people involved understand how to administer it.

That means:

  • Knowing what your responsibilities are.
  • Taking action as a trustee.
  • Keeping proper records.
  • Managing the trust property and making distributions according to the terms.

If you’re asking someone else to create a trust for you without understanding how it operates, you’re missing the entire purpose. And you could be exposing yourself—and your beneficiaries—to future risk.

Here’s the good news: you absolutely can do this yourself.

You don’t need to be a solicitor.
You don’t need a legal background.
You just need a willingness to learn—and a bit of support along the way.

That’s why we created the course.

When you join, you’ll get:

  • A structured, step-by-step guide to setting up your own private trust.
  • Clear explanations of each part of the process.
  • Templates, case studies, and real-world examples.
  • Access to help when you have questions or get stuck.
  • The confidence to know what to do—and why it matters.

A Quick but Important Note

For full transparency, we want to be clear that we’re not qualified solicitors—yet. Drafting trusts for others, particularly for a fee, is a reserved legal activity. While we’re actively studying law and deeply committed to this work, we do not offer trust drafting as a paid service, and we’ve never charged a fee for doing so.

Yes, we have helped people in the past—for free and in good faith—but we’ve learned something valuable from that experience:

When people haven’t invested time or energy into the trust’s creation, they don’t value it.

And if they don’t value it, they’re unlikely to maintain or administer it properly.

A trust that sits in a drawer, misunderstood and unused, offers no protection at all.

I’m still here to help. Just in the right way.

We’re more than happy to:

  • Write your will.
  • Help with your Lasting Powers of Attorney.
  • Help with land registry
  • Support you as you go through the trust course.

But if someone asks us to simply “do the trust” for them—without investing the time to learn how to use it—our answer will be a kind but clear no.

Not because we don’t care, but because we do.

We want you to succeed.
We want your trust to hold up under pressure.
And most of all, we want you to have real protection, not just a piece of paper.

If you’re ready to learn, we’re ready to help.

Because when you understand your trust, you’re not just getting legal protection.
You’re building confidence, independence, and a legacy that lasts.

If you require a firm who will draft your lifetime trust and act as your trustees, we can help with that also.
